The Colonial Wood Store is a traditional style garden shed with the added advantage of practical exterior storage for logs or tools.
All our sheds are fully lined and decorated so can function equally well as a home office or a place to relax. Insulation is available as an extra cost option.
As each shed is made to order, you can specify the colour, size and shape. We offer a range of door and window styles and a choice of cladding, fascias and barge boards. The roof comes in a choice of premium Cedar shingles or quality man-made slate.

Colonial Wood Store Specifications
The carcass of this Store features three walls constructed of Western Red Cedar premium quality shingles fixed to treated battens and a Redwood stud frame. The fourth wall comprises 19mm x 100mm quality Scandinavian Redwood TGV fixed to Redwood studs.
Our TGV cladding and framing is pressure-treated against rot and insect attack prior to finishing.
The walls, roof and floor are enveloped with a vapour barrier. This ensures that wind-driven rain and rising damp cannot penetrate, whilst still allowing the building to breathe.
Our interior has received equal attention to detail. To create an immensely strong and rigid panel, which will support shelves, hooks, brackets, etc., in any position that suits you, we fix an inner skin of exterior quality 12mm ply to the framework. We then paint the interior walls to match the aesthetic appeal of the exterior.
The floor is constructed from 18mm exterior plywood screwed to pressure treated joists, fixed at 400mm centres for rigidity.
Insulated walls and floor are available as an extra cost option.
We offer you a choice of Western Red Cedar or Tapco slates on battens over 12mm ply. As with all our sheds, the roof of the Colonial Wood Store is constructed using rafters as standard, in line with normal house building practice.
Our doors are solidly constructed in Redwood and are a full 44mm thick, the same thickness as the external doors of your home. Our joinery is glazed in domestic quality glass, while safety glass is used in the door.
- Standard door: 80cm x 180cm
- Standard windows: 90cm x 70cm
- Other sizes can be made to order.
We offer a choice of black or real brass door and window furniture as standard, plus a five lever mortise lock with two keys for security. Stainless steel available as an extra cost option.
All our fixings are filled prior to decoration, to give you the highest quality finish.
The cladding is painted with a shellac primer and finished in two coats of Tikkurila Ultra specialist paint. We believe this to be the very best paint available. Made in Finland, it is proven to last in the harshest conditions. As a naturally durable timber, the Cedar is left untreated.
For a long lasting solid colour finish each product is painted in Tikkurila Ultra wood protection.
Please choose from our palette of colours.
