Heritage Shed Specifications
The carcass of our Heritage Shed is constructed from 19mm x 125mm quality Scandinavian Redwood fixed to Redwood studs.
All cladding and framing is pressure-treated against rot and insect attack. The cladding is then painted with stain block primer and finished in two coats of Tikkurila Ultra. This hard-wearing paint is the best that we have found: manufactured in Finland and proven to withstand the harsh Scandinavian climate.
All our fixings are filled prior to decoration, to give you the highest quality finish.
The walls and roof are enveloped with a vapour barrier, ensuring protection from wind-driven rain whilst still allowing the building to breathe.
Our interior has received equal attention to detail. To create an immensely strong and rigid panel, we fix an inner skin of exterior quality 12mm ply to the framework. An added advantage is that this will support shelves, hooks, brackets, etc., in any position that suits you. We then paint the interior walls to match the aesthetic appeal of the exterior.
The floor is constructed from 18mm exterior plywood screwed to pressure-treated joists which are fixed at maximum 400mm centres.
Insulated walls and floor are available as an extra cost option.
Our Heritage Shed roof comes in a choice of Western Red Cedar or Tapco slates on battens over 12mm ply. As with all our sheds, it is constructed using rafters as standard, in line with normal house building practice.
Our Heritage Shed doors are solidly constructed in Redwood: they are a full 44mm thick, the same thickness as the external doors of your home. Joinery is glazed in domestic quality glass, while safety glass is used in the door.
- Standard door: 80cm x 180cm
- Standard windows: 90cm x 70cm
- Other sizes can be made to order.
We offer a choice of black or real brass door and window furniture as standard, plus a five lever mortise lock with two keys for security. Stainless steel available as an extra cost option.
All nail and screw holes are filled and sanded to give you the highest quality finish.
The cladding and joinery is painted with a shellac based primer and finished in two coats of Tikkurila Ultra – a specialist paint manufactured in Finland, and designed to cope with the extremes of the Scandinavian climate.
For a long lasting solid colour finish each product is painted in Tikkurila Ultra wood protection.
